Hello, my name is Anwita Guruprasad, and I am beyond ecstatic to introduce myself as the Candor International School Model United Nations 2024’s (CANMUN 2024) Secretary General. As the seventh year of this prestigious conference commences, I would like to look back on the legacy of CANMUN as one of sheer growth, resilience, and fortified diplomacy since the beginning. CANMUN represents all of the paramount traits required to ensure successful debate and collaboration, as well as a critical provider of global awareness, something so prevalent and necessary in our tumultuous and ever-changing world today. This conference has fostered hundreds of eager delegates throughout the years, as well as nurtured the success of numerous enamoring committees through intense conversation, debate, and statesmanship. I am at utmost pleasure to welcome you to this year’s edition of CANMUN 2024! And remember delegates, diplomacy comes with the responsibility of ensuring wellbeing and prosperity for all, through critical collaboration and the endowment of a collective. This statement rang true even back in the day, as Woodrow Wilson once said famously around a century ago, “The ear of the leader must ring with the voices of the people”. Hello, I am Rohan Menon, and I am very excited to be your Director General for CANMUN 2024. I am currently an IBDP student studying humanities, such as history and psychology. Having been a part of the MUN community since 2020, I have garnered a bank of experiences and memorable moments from winning awards to chairing committees. I want to be a journalist, and I have published several articles online. I am also deeply in love with sports. As the Director General, my idea is to provide a dynamic, well-organized setting for the MUN segment so that delegates can learn and enhance their profiles through the meaningful debates to be carried out. I want to make sure that CANMUN 2024 is such an experience where one learns, meets others, refines their MUN skills, and supports each other throughout the event.
